COVID-19 has caused huge turmoil, throwing many of our lives into disarray. as we adapt to life spent mostly indoors. The majority of us are able to leave the house for daily exercise, to go to the shops for necessities and to collect medicines ourselves. However, many across the country were told to self-isolate due to their medical conditions or age, or those of someone within their household. Added to this, the economic fallout of the global health crisis will be massive, impacting almost every sector of every financial market and pushing hundreds of thousands below the poverty line.
This is the greatest national crisis within living memory and the time when we must all play a part to the best of our ability. Merchant Taylors have long supported organisations working to alleviate poverty within Lewisham, and continues this by supporting Rushey Green Time Bank, who are leading a Lewisham-wide effort to deliver food and essentials to the most vulnerable people in the borough.
Through its Coronavirus Appeal, the Merchant Taylors' Foundation is supporting organisations who are on the frontlines in helping those hit hardest by COVID-19.
Watch the video below from Rushey Green Time Bank as they share what they're vital work involves.
